Bombe Habba....Festival of DOLLS !!!!

Ever since i am a child every year Dasara meant, HOLIDAAAAYS, going to Mysore, watching the Dasara event, watching Torch Light Parade,Chamundi hills(Though most of times its just climbing the hill, not getting inside the temple because of the rush),Exhibitions, soo many things........ Guess i have seen Dasara in Mysore continuously for 12 years... Trust me its an treat to eye to watch all that...
Every year since  5 years first thing which comes on my mind when i think of Dasara is Shanthala's house with lots of dolls arranged for the BOMBE habba... :) Moment Dasara starts i make sure i ask her when to visit her house before even she invites.... :D Visit her one of these days and enjoy the bombe habba along with nice food... :)

This year I wanted to take the pictures of the dolls. So went a little early by 4.30 and the theme was sooo nice.. She had Kannada as the theme.

There was a nice rangoli in front of the door..She had painted Kannada flag colors on the mat and had hung it on door.. Then came the time to see the next nice things displayed.... She had put old gramophone records on the mat and displayed on the walls..

Next displays to be looked at were the Kannada poems being displayed along with the poet's pictures on them. Was really refreshing to read them out...

Finally came the long list of dolls which had to be captured... Started clicking and trust me it took more than half an hour...There are nearly 800 or more dolls.... Beautiful collection of such variety of dolls.... Name the kinds she has.. Let me try to list some... Lots of varieties of Ganesha's, Krishna's, Lakshmi's, Japanese dolls, Variety of cooking utensils models, fruits, Yakshagaana dolls, one set of whole village set up dolls,... so on and so forth.... Its an treat to eye... :) After the click click, had wonderful payasam and usli... had one treat.. :) Met couple of my old colleagues.. Its a nice day on the whole.. :)

Hats off to Shanthala's patience of arranging the dolls, keeping them intact for a year and keep them intact.... its such a task.,.. Trust me this is soo necessary to show our coming generations about our rich culture...

Uncertainity :):P:!

"UNCERTAINTY"....Every moment in our life everything is so uncertain... We always run behind various things which would hardly turn out to be true.. Suddenly at some point in life things change so abrupt,so uncertain....We chase dreams every minute.. We are behind one or the other.. Moment one comes true, will start running behind another one... This process goes on... never ends anywhere.... In another case by the time we realize we are chasing a wrong dream, damage will be done and will be hurt... Funniest part is chasing will never stop... Would be hurt or crippled, but would still start the run(crawl) behind another dream but never stops....

I get a random dream one day... In matter of few days i started feeling that i can chase it.. Here I go.. started my run behind that dream... During the run first few months chasing that dream, i figured out this is all i wanted all my life... I also had lots of questions on mind about the certainty.... But everything around it screamed out loud to said its the right thought to chase that dream and totally made me forget the uncertainty in it.... Its a another case.. :D

One fine day it happened, had to face the uncertainty.... Facing uncertainty needs more courage than anything else in life... If things don't go your way, its easy to accept but when you are not sure... That's the hardest part in life...

Had only two choice.. First to continue the run till i realize dream will be shattered and turn out to be a nightmare or second being forget the previous run and start chasing a new dream.... Of course later one is difficult since a need to be dreaming a new one for it...
There is a kannada say "Baanale inda benkige"... That literally means from a frying pan to the fire... Either would be dreadful......

The decision i took out of choices is NONE... :D Letting things the way they are, sort by itself...

My First Cycling Trip... !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cycling... The very word makes me think of the days when cycling was the means to reach places... I used to cycle around 25 kms a day when i was in PU.... Tutions, college, tutions... Man.. gone are those days.... I learn to cycle when i was 8... Appa's Hero cycle(Yeah the big one)..... I could hardly reach on peddle when it went down... I could never get on and off cycle.. Appa used to get me on cycle on high school ground and i used to go one big round and come back to Appa to get down from it.. :) All i knew was to apply brakes.. I had one real bad fall once since i couldn't get off cycle.. :) he he he... But learn it hard way... Can't thank appa enough for teaching it to me.. :)

When Sapna told me there is cycling trip, had all smiles on me.. But surely doubted if i would be able to do any cycling, since hadn't touched for sooo long.. Sapna said, "Pinki you are swimming, I bet you can do it".... She said she is cycling too and boosted my spirits to heights.. :)

Saturday evening spoke to Sapna, what i had to carry.. She said a water bottle, and i carried only that.... I didn't even know how far is the ride.. She said they will get the bikes and i was all set.... I was already by 6.30 and called her.. She asked me to relax for another hour.. Finally i was picked up at 8.. Badri said, one winger will come with cycles on the top and you will know... The moment i saw the winger, was all excited and all smiles... :):):)

I didn't know anyone expect Sapna and Badri.... They weren't in the winger.. i entered and said Hi to all and introduced myself... Had so many questions in mind about how long is the ride, and people, and what not...

Reached Bangalore University and saw Sapna there.... And moved in the winger till the end of it and here we go we were all set to Start.. First question i had in mind "Why are these cycles with just ONE WHEEL??"

And here we go were all were gathered and met Ashutosh and Badri and started with a memory game of remembering names..... :) Trust me soo hard to remember names and especially meeting everyone for first time... But did manage to remember and play the game... Time for second one... Ashu said choose one person as your partner and we are supposed to know about that person by breakfast break... which was 10 kms away.. :D So everyone did.. and our director(Gowtham) was all busy shooting all of us.. Vinay was riding for our director.... :D and we all were asked a question, What time is it?? "ITS CYCLING TIME" was the answer...

I got Ashvath as my partner... I guess i could just exchange few words only in the beginning, got to know he belongs to a Doctor's family... :):) After that i started cycling a little ahead and i didn't want to slow down because i know once i slowdown i would never pick up the pace.. was moving on with a pace.. so started talking to whoever came along... Was so nice to know sooo many people.. I am people person.. I love being with people.. I enjoyed it sooo much... We did ride on a tank bund... few more clicks and our director was still shooting...and i remember the first slope on road woooooow it was... and sapna and me started saying.. "Weight does have lots of advantages"

Our first target was to reach breakfast point almost near to Doddaladamara (Big Banyan Tree)... We cycled 10 kms and were all set for breakfast.. As soon as Priety saw the place to break, she cycled with all her energy and rested there... :) Bisi Bisi Uppit and Maavinahannina Sira... Wah wah... Mouthwatering breakfast... Ate stomach full... We were asked to move ahead with another 7 kms to reach Doddalamara... We went there and we heard a news, Sapna along with Yashu, had lost her way and reached somewhere near to bangalore.. :D Trust she has driven more kms than any one of us.....She was successful misguiding Yashaswini along with her too...

So in my list of seeing places i did tick off Doddalamara.. :D we took a short break and then we started again.. Me, Bhargavi, Surya started our ride.... We were on for few more kms ... Met Narayan urf Nano who was searching for who was his partner.. :) i gave him a solution get to know everyone is safer a bid.. :)
We took a frooti break in ahead.... and ate some chikki, few more clicks and off.. Now we saw our director riding towards us... he he he... So me and Gowtham started cycling ....Now we were cycling towards Manchinabele dam(one more on my to see list)... Was all glad.. Gowtham was narrating me a story on how his bike brokedown last time he visited this place.. :D He said once we reach the dam, the road opens up into a beautiful screnary... Trust me it was worth a watch.. There was one slope on the road and it opened up into a beautiful arena... Since Gowtham's cycle had just one break, we did ride slow and he took one SNAP OF THE TRIP for me.. :D It seemed in that pic as though i rode a tough terrain.. ;) Then we stooped over to find out two more people were off the way...They had entered the dam road... We started again with Ashu and Priety in the car, our navigators... We stopped over in one of the turns to stop sapna from deviating from the road.. But guess what she successfully lost her way again... Thanks to Vinay to get her back on track...There we saw a board which read savanadurga 2 kms.. It was such a motivating factor.. Someone had wiped off the 1 next to 12... ;)

We were searching for a place to break for Lunch and Finally did found one place and they said its 2 Kms ahead... Kept on peddling and peddling... with Gowtham with all his energy boosted and pushed me to cycle.. :) We reached the place to lunch... It was one shani temple and we had nice tree shade to sit and eat... We parked ourselves and HOGGED.... Swathi's Pulyogre was awesome so was Sapna's Mosaranna.. :D This was a longer break.... After eating, we had one nice round of mimics session from Ashutosh.. He is AWESOME..... Karnanda.. :) Such a talented guy... :) Now with stomach and ears full we started towards savanadurga and it was just 7 kms away... few of the up hill roads now... Followed our oldest way of riding these times, Get off cycle and push it up the hill.. Worked us wonders... Me and sapna had some conversations on our way... One of the villages we passed, there were kids who got their cycles out and were racing with us... Was one experience not to forget.. Here we go we reached the place... Me and Sapna looked at each other and felt sooo contented.. We did a bike salute.. (though sapna did it the best)  WE DID IT..... felt soooo nice... Nobody wanted to trek from there.. all tired.. we took lots of rest had out best of tea and off to bangalore....

Trip with Cousins.... :)

Have been planning this trip for 1 year, no its more than 3 years we all are trying to make this trip... Me and Deepana have tried several times to fix this trip and always unsuccessful... Because of timing issues... Everyone is busy in their own world and work.. Finally everyone took a decision on this and day came in where we had to leave.. Friday night packed my bags and couldn't sleep out of excitement... Saturday morning rushed in to dodama house and parked my bike there and all set to start... :D Satishanna, Vanitha attige, her ajji, and Sudhanshu and Shubhankar(Terrors) started..... On our way we had plans to visit Sidalingeshwar temple..... We started at around 6.30 AM... Ofcourse once Satishanna is behind the steering wheel he rips the road apart.... :) Can experience the fast and furios movie :D:D.... We stopped by the temple and visited it and there was one small pond in the park area attached to the temple. That pond had a small bridge to walk in between the water which lead to a Devi statue and had small area around the devi statue to just circle around it.. It was really beautiful.... Was time to start the clicks.. :) Took few picks and started from there... On our way we stopped for breakfast and reached Hassan 10... We dropped ajji and we thought we were running late to catch up with rest of the crowd and rushed to my place. We were the first to reach.. Ofcourse Sid and Sanganna were all ready since morning... Plans were made to reach the homestay around 12 in afternoon.. By the time Sanjanna,Champa attige,Dev, Suniyanna, Geeta attige came in and we could only leave hassan by 1.30 PM... All the kids jumped into Sanjanna's Bolero...Whole while till we reached Hassan, while discussing route, Vanita attige kept on saying she won't sit in gaadi for 1 Km in the first Ghat section... I promised to walk along with her too...  Funny part is we never had to go through that route..  We took a de-route and left.. On our way i saw board to Rottikal.. I had been to Rottikal few years ago with my HP gang.. Was one hell a trip.. was awesome one.....

We reached the Hullimakki Homestay around 2.45 PM.. Lunch was all ready to serve.. Nice and hot Parathas, two curries, rice, curd and sweets and what not... Nice and Yummm foood was served and we hogged... :D now next plan of action was going to the water stream to play.... Already Sanganna had warned us not to expect a Big water fall and stuff.. So we were prepared for a small stream there... we were taking a shortcut to reach that place.. It was one real small stream of water flowing, slippery mud around it and we walked alkmost inside that stream... with all my nephews screaming and yelling, we all managed to reach the place. It was one beautiful spot.. wooow it was... All of us were all set to enter water... I took few clicks and was all set to get inside water..... Anna's all went inside first and found out that we could sit right behind the falls too.. we all got near to the falls and trust me it was soooooooooo delighful experience... We did have Vanitha attige and Satishanna, getting "FALLS THERAPY" done... force of water was soooo much of fun... As usual Sid was scared and crying to get inside water.... Sudhanshu, Shubhankar, Dev were all inside water and enjoyed it sooooooooo much.....After few hours of playing there we headed back on the same track back to the home-stay.... same slippery, muddy, water path... was lot of fun... Moment we came back people realised there were leeches.. :D Sanganna and Sudhanshu had got bites of leeches...... We all came back and changed and time was for tea and coffee and snacks......
We came back and we all planned to see the sunset. Option was to go by the Open Gypsy.... Trust me WHAT A DRIVE... we all were sitting and standing and enjoying the roads.... finally he took reverse gear and we all were rising on one of the small hill.... Wooow it was.. We didn't get to see sunset bcoz of clouds, but certainly got few nice clicks of everyone...Did take few family snaps... I did have lots of help on photography by all the terrors... Especially Dev and Sudhanshu.... While climbing downhill i fell... Fast and wuick response "Preethi ge guda bardu kodi pls"( I own that hill now ;))
After that we played RING and Frisbee... And thanks to all the energy people were playing with both of it were on the roof top of the home-stay.... Finally Sanju helped us and got those things back... we played a looooooot.... cricket, football, ring, frisbee, chain cut and what not..... all tired we relaxed for a while.. by 7 all these guys started rushing to sakaleshpur to pick Pooja back to homestay.. We loitered around for another sometime and they were back... There was campfire and singing and ofcourse dancing.. Suniyanna started it which passed on to everyone around.... Had nice Bajjis and another cofffee which i enjoyed.... We then had our dinner and it was time for bed time story.... Yeah all my nephews gathered around and i was supposed to tell them a bed time story..... I chose the story "Alibaba and Chaali Chor"... Thought i would tell our story quiet colorful... Thanks to Dev, he didn't let me to say about forty thieves at all.. He said "ibre kallru iddiddu, Ondu Avnu innondu Ivnu"... That means there were just two thieves, one is this and other is that.. The story stayed there circling around and didn't complete... Finally managed to finish the story and all of us were fast asleep....

Morning was all welcomed by one nice strong coffee.. we were deciding on eat and then go for trek or trek first.. finally we all went on trek after bfast.... We started towards moorkannu gudda... Most of us on Gypsy and rest bros on sanjanna's bolero.... The gypsy had one funny thing with it, the lock was broke, it used to get opened every few mins.... and we had to lock it up... Finally suniyanna sat on it and he said it wont opne now... trust me that worked, it didnt open.. We went to a temple.. its one very old temple of shiva.. After that we moved on to the trek.... We climbed one hill and one more to go... All my bros said they woul ndt come ahead but relax there... Saw Sudhanshu running and climbing the hill soooooo quick and he did climb and get down atleast  5 times.. he has lots of energy.. So me and my bhabhis started to climb the second hill.. This was one steep climb... it was beautiful on the top of the hill and we enjoyed the climb uphill and downhill too....  While coming back Suniyanna fell.. :D "Suniyanna ge Gudda bars kodi" he he he.. he own another hill now.... i was laughing out loud..We came back and went to a pond near the temple.. Its filled with lots of fishes.. People feed fished there.. We did too... Our terror gang enjoyed it... we came back and one Tempo traveller was blocking sanjanna's gaadi.... He got into it and moved it and got the way cleared... He said it was fun.....

Came back to home-stay , ate and ate and took rest for a while... Played again all the games on the list.... and coffee and we all were set to leave to Hassan.. Another plan was being laid... Will all gather at Satishanna's farmhouse... :D Sanjanna's family couldnt make it to this gathering though....We all went to hassan and from there another gathering started.... Cooked and ate and finally played the Housie game..... Trust me Sudhanshu was one winner in it... Whoever won row, full house or anything.. he would get his share.. He made THE MONEY... :D I am not good with that game ever... Finally we all slept late and next day all of us had to get back to our busy life and work.....
Missed Deepanna, Pratibakka , Sandesh and Sudhyanna .. Hope to make it next time with all of us....
This was one awesome break... Enjoyed every bit of it..... Satishanna, Vanita attige, Sudhanshu,Shubhankar,Suniyanna, Geeta attige,Sanganna, Pooja, Sidd, Sanjanna, Champa Attige, Dev and ofcourse me... Three cheers to all of us... :)
Love you All guys... :)

Beach Trip.... !!!!! :)

"BEACH TRIP!!!!"..... Had heard sooo much from Jaychee, were looking forward for this trip for quiet a while... Last trip of karwar(devbagh) was one memorable beach side trip i had been to. That was couple of years ago. Since the whole island was owned by the resort people, only people on the beach were us.... Already Jayashree had told us that will be going to visit all the no man beaches and will have lots of fun.....

Finally the day came in when we had to RUN to embrace nature... :)

After one routine day at office, i rushed back home and di the packing was ready by 7... Bus was at 10 and we were asked to gather by 9.45 PM nead VRL Office... Met people there, but our daari deepa Mr. Mahendra wasnt there yet. We all knew where we are going thats all.. Didnt know a single detail on how are we spending the next two days... Our organiser arrived at 10 and we asked him about the itenary he said, he is not the organiser, Its JAYASHREE, bcoz she is the one who called all of us, she is the one who booked the tickets and she is the one who informed us to gather near the bus stop. So he hence proved she is the organiser.

Couple of people were new to each other, so one formal round of introduction happened and we boarded the bus. There was some waiting which happened in yashawantpur for one old couple who has missed the bus and finally our bus started at 11.30 from bangalore.

Reached Murdeshwar at 8 in the morning. We got down and asked our organiser where to next- Same answer from mahendra, i am not the organiser, Its jayashree.. :) We all went and got settled in the guest house, with sea facing balcony.. Got freshen up and had breafast... Had booked a vehicle for the our rest of the trip. Finally not our trip organiser(Mahendra) told us the itenary :P. He told us that we would head to Uyilmudi Beach and from there Apsara konda beach and will be back to murdeshwar.

After taking stroll in the murdeshwar beach, talking about the banana boat ride experiences, talking about the paraseling, it was time to start our trip... :):):)

We were 10 and we got a vehicle which is 7 seater.. I am sure you can imagine how we placed ourself and started.. :) It was lot of fun.... We stopped over for a tea, juice break before we eneterd Uyilmudi beach... Had a small photo shoot of our model Megha :) ..... Mahedra had asked to keep an eye towards the road, the beach(Sea) opens up and we can have a wonderful view... We all did see it excpet Azad.. But we promised him that e would see the close out while leaving... :)

We entered the beach and trust me that whole beach had just 10 of us... It was WOOOOOOOOW feeeling.. we did take some pics and started with the first plan of galipata harsing.. :) Tried hard to make that kite fly but wasnt successfull becoz of wind... Then we wanted to play frisbee.. ha ha ha.. and all of us tested out skills of frisbee and couple of times we were successful in dropping the frisbee to the sea too.. :) Thank god its a beach so sea was curtious enough to get us back... :D :D

Then mahendra said there is one more wonderful place. we walked around and reached one WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW place... Its one place with lots of rocks on the shore and believe me i was thinking why people go abroad to see it.. when we have such beautiful places..... It was WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.... and just one thing was the water at the shore did carry some weeds... That was lil scary everytime there was water pushed to the shore.. we sat there for quiet a while and it was one real goood experience.... one great thing about this trip was we didnt have to rush anywhere to complete the trip... we could spend ample time wherever we wanted to for however long... Very relaxing one....

Started walking back to the vehicle and we had a nice photo shoot at one of the walls of beach area... i loved those pics... :) I did manage to loosen a brick from the wall while climbing on it and got hurt...

We left the beach and we started towards Apsara konda... the moment we heard it, me,anla and megha sang Apsara aaaali..... :)... puttums favorite song.... Now that we started and if you remeber we had promised azad to show the closing out part of sea... He missed it this time since he had changed his position where he was sitting again backwards...

We had out lunch at honnavara and we started and on the way it was time for "HANGYO" icecreams... :D We ate some of the flavors of Hangyo, enjoyed it and we started towards the light house. The light house was closed but we did spend sometime and we had nice time taking few nice pictures of megha, chandu and ofcourse all ours..... Ofcourse our model megha stayed the model for the trip.... :) and we started towards apsara konda...

Singing the song Apsara aaaali .... we started walking towards the apsara konda.. had walk past a temple and one stretch was quiet slpeery and difficult to cross and reached the beach..... It was really beautiful

... We all got into water and played in the beach for i dont know how long.. we saw the sunset.. took few nice pics... sky was soooo orange, pink and blue.. Could see all the shades was soooooooooooooooooo fabulous.. treat for eyes... me,anala, megha, chandu,Azad,Jayshree played sooooo much in water....Now our model was changed to Chetna... :D She refused to get into water and she was enjoying outside.. So all the photographers(Mahendra,Vinod) attention was to model chetna... :D After the sunset, we started walking back towards the entrace, got the vehicle from there and we were back to murdeshwar by 7...... we got frehsen up, since had looose kilos of sand which was on us... and had our dinner at beach restaurant and were back..Megha and Chandu said they are having the best of the trip too.... Now not our trip organiser(Mahendra) talked about the next day itenary and we had one gathering and a chat session.....This time our nededaduva medical shop(Sarathy) refused to get any medicines and we ran out of medicines.. :( All of us were soooo damn tired we just hit the sack and we were fast asleeep...

Next day morning we all got readyand had breafast and started towards edgunji temple.. Visited the Idagunji Ganapathy temple, little different.. God wasn't decorated with any flowers, there were idol of two mice on the starting of garbhagudi.... it was a nice temple... From

there on our way we went to Mirjan Fort... Its a small fort but is been taken care by the historical society... There was one guy standing outside shouting to us dont take vedios... We had to convince him that we are taking just the photos.. Though i didnt understand what difference would it have made... Anyways.. It was written there that the place was ruled by Peppe rQue

en and some other rulers.. So there was discussion on who is the pepper queen among ourselves and we declared jayashree the pepper queen.. :) We went around the whole place ofcourse some more shots were taken.... Couple of places inside the fort gave the feeling of Hampi....

We started our journey to Om Beach.... It was quiet crowded a beach. We didnt get inside the water though.. Azad got us a deal to go on a boat ride to see the other two beaches and dolphins(which don't exist).. :D We got on to the boat and started our ride.. on the way suddenly mahendra asked the guy who was riding the boat, "Sir elli dolphins?".. That guy replied will show them and he turned and he was smiling.. Everytime we asked that question, he used to smile and say will show.. He promised us to show the dolphins which don't exist in that part of sea... He took us to the half moon

beach and he didnt stop there.. Our next beach to be seen was Paradise Island and somehow Azad negotiated with that guy and got us down in that beach.. That beach was filled with firangs and it seems they just come there and put up their tents and stay there, cook and enjoy there for weeks together... IDEAL holiday..... There were lots of graffitti on the walls and all over the place in paradise beach..... We stopped there for a while and got few pics and started back towards om beach...... On out way back, again the question of dolphins was asked and ofcourse that guy smiled again.. :D

We went and ordered for our lunch there and we had to wait for more than hour to get that.. We ate nicely and decided we couldnt make it to Gokarna since there was time crunch... Started back to murdeshwar.... Now was the best part of our trip... We all being very nice to our friend Sarathy... :D

Mahendra like singing a lot.. He sang all along the trip
.. Now ofcourse we had our singer Vinod along with us... Who can even sing the best of the songs in his worst possible style.... :) Now we deiced to sing and enjoy the rest of the trip... But how could we if sarathy didnt understand it..

Here goes some of the songs

Hindi:-"Oh.. Ek ladki ko dekha tho aisa lagaaaa"
English version:- Upon seeing one girl this is what i felt.....

Hindi:- Woh chali woh chali dekho pyar ki gali
English:- There is goes, There is goes, DOnt go that street, there are love pritaes who will loot you

Kannada:- Noorondu Nenapu, edeyaladinda, haadagi bantu aananda dinda
English:- Hundred one dreams, straight from the bottom of my heart, song is it come with lot of happiness

Kannada:- malenada henna maibanna, aha nadu sanna....
English:- Malenaada girl colour is white...

Hindi:- Rote hua aate hain sab, hasta hua to jaana hain, woh mukaddar ka sikandar
English:- everyone comes crying, while going go smiling, he is called as Alexandar of fate

Ha ha ha ha... there were soooooooo many songs which were tarnslated for Sarathy.. I am sure he will never ask meaning for any word in his life... :) Was really awesome...

We reached and got frehsen up and we all started back to Bangalore....

This trip was a real goood one.. i enjoyed it to the core... One treat to eye and nature at its best......
Mahendra not our trip organizer,You are a good non trip organiser... You Rock.... Thanks Jaycheee... :)

Three Cheers to All of us...

Chandu,Megha, Anala, Jayashree, Azad,Vinod,Chetana,Sarathy,Mahendra and Me
