Sunderbans........

Most awaited break… Break after 3 years… KOLKATA Calling… Trip started eventful… Me,Madhu and Rukku started to airport… Ofcourse had to start eventful.. Thanks to Rukku, started late, then we had to rush back since she had left the ID proof.. We reached 6.45 PM for a 7 PM flight… Had to literally plead the Indigo people to get on the flight.. But with all her luck, we reached Kolkata… Lights on the city looked beautiful from air… Had carried bag full of warm clothes, fearing cold would be really bad.. But felt like its lesser cold than Bangalore.
Our first outing in Kolkata is to a mall :D… South City Mall looked all decked up for Christmas.. Roamed around Ghariahat and went back home.. Aunty had prepared loads of food… Ate sweets and slept off..
Mangrove forest, had read so much about it right from school… Sunderbans… Started at 9 AM to science city junction.. Rukku,Madhu,Didi and Me were all set to go.. We were all boarded a Qualis.. All thrilled by the description being read about the trip, started the trip.. We went by road for 3 hours to Godhkhali. Around 25 people were seated in 4 vehicles and we reached a place where we were transferred to a boat. Around 30 mins on motored boat and we were taken off on for next bit of ride… Next stretch of 5 kms was asked on cycle rickshaw.. It’s a 3 wheeler with wooden plank seating which can take many people together. Me and Rukku were asked to sit on one of the rickshaw and we had out luggage being carried along.. Was one different experience. He drove taking so much of weight on his vehicle.. :D After 5 kms stretch was done, I wanted to try riding it along… I did as soon as we reached .. Took a pic too… Next and the last stretch was on boat again. This time the boat was more of a smaller and typical boat which is rowed not motored. Reached the Chatimara again.. Place where we had to stay with no electricity… It’s an ecofriendly village where no plastic zone and no electricity also there.. We were given mud huts. Neat huts with an attached bathroom… Everything was nice and earthly.. We got freshen up and went for the lunch. Lunch reminded me of the mustard oil.. Found it very hard to eat that lunch, all my thoughts went on eating bread n jam later part of the day.. Post lunch we went on a village walk. We looked at lots of birds on our walk. Heron, types of Kingfishers like black capped kingfisher, collared kingfisher and so on. Looked at one of the clay oven, a small pond outside the huts… They store water for daily purpose and to breed fish in pond. After that we went on a local boat ride.. Beautiful the view was. Spotted more birds and was time for sunset. Sun sets at 4.30 here… View was soo beautiful. Couldn’t take my eyes off the sunset view. Orange sky, cold the weather was… Wooow it was… Sunset by 4.30 PM… By 5 everywhere it was dark and scary… We came back to our huts and got ready and ofcourse no electricity… We had lantern on and few torches on. Such a different experience. Got ready and there was a Baoul (folk music) music played. Group of 4 men sang so many Bengali Baoul songs. Thought we didn’t understand the meaning of it, beats were head banging ones… Just wanted to dance around for that music. Enjoyed the music, was really nice… After that had dinner. Ate Chapathi with jam and butterJJ. Group had few interesting people. Next day’s plan was to get up 5 AM and whole day on boat. Just the thought was so thrilling. Have never been on boat for one whole day.
Ajay babu(Organizer) gave us a wakeup call. Got hot water from the kitchen and we all took bath and got ready by 6 AM. It was all misty and cold outside. Of course the first ones to get ready. Had a lemon tea and all set to get on the boat. We were boarded to two different boats. We got on ELMAR (which means SEA). Got the required permissions from the forest office, which is just opposite to eco village, and head off into the jungle, for rendezvous with one of the biggest mangroves of the world, rich in flora and fauna… It was all misty.. Couldn’t see anything after 3 feet distance.. Boat ride started and few seconds we did hit on another boat… Though it wasn’t a bad one, it still scared hell out of everyone in the boat… Was so cold two sweaters and a cap and shall and were still trembling.. Was fun though.. Whole day on boat was something I had never done.. Was all thrilled and was looking forward for it.. Got a seat right infront of the boat and settled there…. Was easy to spot and click click. With help of Mr Aasif and his friend we could spot lots of birds(Which I was always unaware of)… Cruising  the small channels and creeks we will try to spot different wildlife.Clicked a crocodile, moniterlizard, loads of birds….. Went through visit 3 watch towers hoping to spot the ROYAL BENGAL TIGER namely Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali and Dobanki.. Didn’t find a single one J.Breakfast, lunch and other refreshments were cooked and served on the boat.

Mangroove forests is huge and beautiful.. We were on boat for whole day and for 50 kms almost.. Saw the sunset by 4.30.. captured few clicks and waited for us to reach the shore… We reached shore around 6.30 PM.We start our journey back for Kolkata and reached by 9.30 PM. Even after coming home had the feeling of as though I am sailing.. J Lovely experience it was, cant really explain it in few words… JJ

Mullayanagiri....

Mullayangiri has loads of memories for me from my childhood.. My aunt used to stay in chickamagalur.. Have been there to mullayangiri couple of times when was in school. One of the times i remember very clearly is when i was in my 5th standard or so.. Had been there with my cousins.. I remember trekking from seethalayanagiri to mullayangiri and it was so beautiful an experience along with the view from the top of the hill too... Had been to Mullayangiri two years and ago and was one memorable trip to chickamagalur too.. It had rained and slippery terrain and we trekked.. was just awesome...
Finally the plan was made to go for a team outing to Mullayangiri.. The very word thrilled me.. As planned we all decided on leaving on 27th morning to Mullayangiri.. Calling people, waking people up ;) co ordinating all fianlly gathered at 7 AM and set to leave.. Thanks to the leaders who did manage to pull in people atleast at 7AM....
Nikhil,Vijay,Basava,Chetana and myself were to first few to get on at 5AM on bus and ofcourse the set to wait till everyone came in.. So finally everyone gathered at 7AM.. We were a good headcount of 26 people.. Am sure everyone was equally thrilled as i was.. It was my first team outing with this team... First thing to do as soon as we all hopped on was, Bala shuffled people and said we need to know others and not just friends friends sitting next to each other.. So we started our journey... Started with ragging newly joined ones.. Ofcourse we were a big pulton to be ragged...Hafeez took the lead to rag each and everybody.. :D
Went on with the below list.. :D
1. Mathew
2. Prasad
3. Nani
4. Hema
5. Swati
6. Kamran

Stopped in for nice yummy idly for breakfast somewhere near to Kunigal.. ofcourse clicked too.. :D Though i was too lazy to unviel my cam.. Mahesh and Sriram clicked.. :) After a photoshoot and breakfast break, we started again.. We had a fight over which movie to watch and finally watched Bhag Milka Bhag on our way.. Most of slept through the movie.. :D Ofcourse I was up and running when we crossed Hassan(Ofcourse i had to say to people i am from there). Reached chickamagalur around 11.30 PM.. All of us freshened up and ate our lunch and were all set to go to Mullayangiri... I was super thrilled about the wide angle lens i was carrying(hoping to get great clicks on the top of the hill).. I finally unvieledmy camera and started the click right at the home stay.. Since the homestay had beautiful garden with flowers and flowers and flowers where ever we saw.. How could photographers keep it down.. Click Click Click.... :)

Homestay owner said our bus wouldn't be able to make it in that road, so we rented another small bus and started our journey.... As we started to climb, all we could see is green green and green... Beautiful sights all over.. Stopped at a place to have some clicks ofcourse and started again.. All the RayBan,fast-tracks came out.. :D Click Click Click.. :)

We had to stop our bus on reaching Seethalayanagiri.. We decided to trek from there... So we had to finish around 4 kms of trek and then 400 steps to reach the place... Started the climb.. It was so beautiful a sight.. Slowly steadily all of us started the climbed and managed to reach the steps... Click click was another important rule.. :) Couple of guys carried water bottles and kept people hydrated.. :) Thanks to them..
Reaching steps, few of them started saying will not climb.. this enough kinds..Finally everyone started pushing the other and the last set of steps to climb the peak.. I am so proud to say that "ALL OF US MADE IT TO THE PEAK".

Peak has a small temple at the top of the hill.. On the way to the peak, planted my tripod and finally managed to click the clicks i wanted to.. It was so mesmerizing a sight.. Was lost in the moment.. Just wanted to stay there... Could actually see the shades on few hills, few hills being cloudy and what not... MESMERIZING is the only word i can think of it now..  We clicked so many clicks again.. Took a team picture... :) cheers to all the photographers...:)

As we started to climb down, clouds started to cover the hill... It was soo beautiful a sight.. Clouds covering the whole arena.. woooow it was... Midst of cloud, we were climbing down.. We stopped at one small stream and played in water.. Has so much fun.. I am sure all of us were drenched.. :D Lovely it was... we came back to the homestay by around 7 PM....

We had a nice plan knit for the evening already.. How can a trip complete without a bonfire? We played two games around the bonfire and of course snacks were served.. We played a game of identify who is the personality.. Man that was one game.. :D Was so super fun... Few guys were super cool guessing the personalities too.. :)
Mathew - Meg WItman. He did guess it..  and in like 3 chances...
Ullas- Mahatma Gandhi .. He Didnt guess and accepted a dare of voicing out wild and domestic animals
swati - Rajnikanth Guessed it.. :D
Hema- Amitab Bachchan... She guessed it tooo
sridhar- Charlie Chaplin... He couldn't guess and he did sing a song both forward and backward.. That was amazing

After this game we played the game of killer,Detective and Victim game.. Game where the killer will wink and kill the victims.. Game was more fun because through the bonfire it was so hard to see someone wink ..;)
and the fun part was the detective(Karuna) revealed herself and made the task easy for the killer to kill everyone. Mathew(killer)lived it..

Finishing dinner we all crashed... :D Next day morning all the girls got up and were ready by 6... and found out all the guys weren't up yet.,. :( We did have our coffee went on a stroll..

After breakfast we planned out to go to Dabdabee/Sagir Ahmed Falls.. Inside Sagir Ahmed Estate we had to walk down around 2 kms to reach the falls... WOOOOW was an understatement looking at what we saw.. Moment saw the water just splashed on it.. Most of us got in the water and played and played and played.. Couple of them scared of leeches, stayed outside.. But most of us were in water and enjoyed it to the fullest.. This time i didnt wanted to click but to enjoy water.. mahesh and sriram clicked.. Saw a nice rainbow formation in the falls.. was so beautiful.... Was so difficult to get off water and start climbing back to the road..
Once were back everyone got so busy checking leeches.. most of them leech on them except me.. :D :D

Came back to the homestay, got freshened up and started our journey back.. Said bye byee to chickmagalur..

Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta RIDE....

Biking trip... The very word i heard , i asked two questions to Anala.. Can i get my bike? Whats the distance? Figured out its like 60 kms from Bangalore.. I decided to take my bike.. Ofcourse got my pillion ready too(Jaychee)..
Bilikal Rangaswamy betta .. i heard the name of the place for the first time... Its a place near Kanakapura, 60Kms from Bangalore...
Saturday Anala asked me if i would be interested in coming for a biking trip on sunday to B R betta.. I was little skeptic when asked, but was superly excited by the thought i would take my bike.. Myself and Jayashree decided on taking on this trip on my bike.. For someone looking out for a break, this came in a boon.. :D :D Chetana pitched in too sincee there was an option for pilion on one of the bikes..

Sunday morning we got all accessorized and got ready at Banashankari bus stop at sharp 7... Without knowing how many people or bikes would join, we were all set... So finally started from Bangalore at 7.30.. Met Ramjan there.. he had pillion as his MOM... i was like WOOW, such an enthusiast... And Ashok took Chetana as Pillion, Anala and Ravi on a bike and Ofcourse me and Jayashree..

Breakfast was planned on the way.. Stopped at Somanahally gate and ate idly and Dosa... Strange combination was that hotel fellow gave as bonda with idli as well as dosa.. Finished our coffee and bfast and started towards Kanakapura.. Rest of the bikes always on the lead, when went on in out pace...Slowly but steadily.. :D Ashok and Ramjan always on lead.. Ashok would zoooop and gone most of the times...

Our way till Kanakapura, me and jaychee had loads of fun singing, humming and ofcourse playing anthyakshari... was one enjoyable ride till there..

Reached Kanakapura around 9.30... From there we met Murali (500cc Bullet)...He is a traffic warden it seems and he was dressed with dress code of traffic cop..We bought some fruits and started our way to Bilikal Rangaswamy betta... People arguing about 14 kms, 21 kms and the terrain we started riding.. There was tarred road till we reached the foothills of the place.. I was under impression we would be trekking from there to the top of the hill... Ramjan was the only guy who had come there before and who knew how the terrain is... I was little skeptic on the terrain and climbing the top of the hill by my bike.. But all the guys said.. never mind u can do it.. and i agreed upon that.. I started my bike towards the hill and starting stretch was completely MUD slippery road.. Got Jaychee off my bike and dared to go on that road.. It was soo slippery that my vehicle's back tyres started to slip and slip and slip.. I just managed go pass that stretch to know the WORST WAS YET TO COME....

Whoever saw me riding up the hill, people around kept on saying why on earth are trying this road on this bike... I was sure the worst was yet to come..

Just a little ahead i saw the roads of my nightmares.. I was so scared that i might fall and break my vehicle and bones for sure.. The whole terrain was so bad.. I kept on asking these guys a lot of times, we should park my bike and i should trek.. They never allowed me to do so.. They said.. honda is a sturdy bike and just a little ahead, will reach the top.. Trust one of the worst terrains i had driven in my whole life... most challenging one with rocks, and mud and what not.. But i managed to reach the TOP of the hill.. :D :D Ramjan said.. "HERO OF THE DAY is ACTIVA".

The tough terrain was worth the climb for the scenic beauty we saw there... First thing to do as soon as we reached was to park our bikes in a row and take pic.. :D It was all misty on the top of the hill at 12 o clock in the day.. It was all green and misty... We could never visit the temple though... Loads of drunkards on the top of the hill.. People drinking everywhere there... We walked to another view point... The sight we saw was breath taking and was worth all the efforts... We stood on the edge of the cliff and took the fresh air in.. was so nice and beautiful...  We spent so much of time sitting there on that rock.. We could see green dense forest getting covered by mist on and off.. Was such a beauty... Ate fruits and some snacks there and spent some hour or more there enjoying the nature and the view..

Now that thinking of getting down made us say that we would love to stay there than coming down by bike.. :P Downhill was expected to be worse than uphill.. Ravi kept on saying the whole while it needs skill to ride..
Getting downhill was equally bad... But i guess it was more manageable kinds  than getting on the hill..
Finally managed to get down the hill successfully without killing my bike.. :P
On way back Jayashree drove halfway.. For me what stayed on my mind was the terrain and i am sooo proud of my BIKE.. :D

Reached bangalore safe and sound at 5 PM..
Ramjan :- Kept on saying peak is just there, keep riding.. your activa will make it
Ravi S Ghosh:- Kept on saying its all the skill not the kind of bike to ride in this terrain
Ashok:- Always on the lead..
Anala:- Click Click Click
Jayashree:- Hummm... Songs... Songs
Chetana:- All of us said,"Your turn to speak now"
Murali:- Traffic COP
Ramjan Mom:- She ROCKS...
Me:- MY ACTIVA MY HERO..:D

Shimsha......

My memories about Shimsha is all from a high school trip, where in they took us to the falls, to the power plant, sugar factory in Mandya... It was a education tour.. I still remember how astonished i was to see how the power plant looked like.. Huge turbines, Huge machinery.. Was a wow experience..

This rainy season is done wonders with all the waterfalls,reservoirs.. Everywhere the dams are full and the waterfalls are a candy for the eye... Was planning to visit shimsha since few years and couldn't ever make it..There was a plan being knitt at office and boom i was a part of the plan too... Was down with fever the previous day and wondered if i could make it.. That day i decided I will go there somehow... I did manage to make my mind and leave to shimsha..

Trip was planned for 8 people(Shankar,Rohit,Ajay,Arnab,Soumya,Priyal,Happy and Me) and we went ahead and booked a vehicle.. Discussing about the logistics and the places to cover, whole afternoon went on that.. we decided to go on Independence day.. All of us planned to leave around 9 and managed to gather by then too.. Entered Manyata, saw a big celebration happening for Independence day for the security guards for Manyata... Surprised to see a huge number... Clicked few clicks of flag and the colourful Rangoli on the entrance of the Manyata.. Parked our vehicles in K block and still trying to figure about who is on time and who's not..  Me,Soumya,Arnab,Shankar,Rohit were all set and Ajay,Priyal,Happy got the vehicle where we were... Vehicle had 2 big India Flags tied on front.. Started our journey finally at 9.30... stopped over for idly and dosas... moment we sat on the vehicle.. THE NEXUS SAAGA began.. We were 4 Nexus Vs 3 Samsung....Fight between Soumya,Ajay Vs Arnab Priyal was noticeable... People speaking pro samsung and pro nexus started a WORD WAR.... It went on and on and on till i guess we crossed kanapura.. Pros and cons and what not... Highlights are something I really can't remember to put it :P ..... Best part of the whole conversation, i was untouched(though i own a nexus) bcoz people wanted good clicks.. :P He he he he... and i was considered Gurumaata and not to be talked about... ha ha ha ha... We reached Gaganachukki by 12.30 and we went to the place where the falls can be seen from the distance which is basically the main view of the falls.. Because it was independence day place was soo crowded.. We managed few clicks here & there... And of-course how could i leave Ajay aside.. He was nice to me for the reason of good clicks...

It was time for us to go to the next part of trip where we need to go near the falls and go where exactly the falls start... We gathered and started to that place.. We reached there and that place was soo ill maintained.. There was no maintenance, it was stinking .. but we wanted to go near the falls.. We somehow managed to go near the falls and trust me crossing all that was worth it.. It was so beautiful out there.. So very beautiful.. Treat to an EYE.. i took few clicks and i wanted to go near the falls.. But was lil worried about carrying camera there.. Anyways i did manage to go little near to the falls and those clicks gave me goosbumps.. That place was the place i wanted to click. I really missed having a better lens.. But never mind i did manage lots of clicks... :) and again the potraits were shot. :D of all especially Ajay's... All in all that falls was worth a visit.... We spent a lot of time there... and it was already 4 when we started from there.... We dropped the idea of going to talakaadu.. may be next time..

Way back no better than the Nexus fights... :P Fights started on.. but i guess we all were tired to talk too much on that.. I dont know if it was a win for Nexus or Samsung, But it was big tie between Arnab and Ajay... I was always forgiven off the topic since i am called Gurumaa...Trip with all these guys was so much fun.... Had real fun.... :) Hope to go some more places...
Three cheers to Arnab,Ajay,Priyal,Happy,Shankar,Rohit,Soumya and Mee....
Ajay- Pink Nexus Guy..
Priyal- Samsung waali...
Happy- Ever smiling one..
Rohit- Sirf hasi iski bahut hain.. Silent guy
Shankar- Nexus Guy
Soumya- Nexus Guy :D
Arnab- Samsung Guy
Priyanka- Gurumaaa.. :D

Not sure should i name the post Life??

Life.....

Was generally sitting and thinking on Life... Life cant be defined in words.. Everybody have their own view of life.. I mean everyone have their own way of putting things across, describing life with one's view is impossible.. Though there are couple of situations which are routine kinds, which happens in everybody's life.. Just the the occurrence and combination  of situation differs... Say birth,death,love,companionship,achievements.. so many to pen down... Ofcourse this is generic way of looking at it.. But the occurrence and the intensity differs so much.... Everyone says they get the kind issues or problems in life which they are capable of solving only.... But when drilling down to reality, things are soo different and difficult and hard to explain....
Not that this is big philosophy i am chanting on.... It can't be termed as anything so easily... Life is all about how we look at everything... All of us have our own way of looking at things, feeling about the situations and solutions to few problems..

Aero Show 2013...

Aero show 2011 was the one i was suppose to watch... Due to some reasons i couldnt make it with Jayashree and Anala... Had missed it.... So the day Aero show 2013 was announced, buckled up.... Dreaming and thinking on how could that be.. I did see some pictures and had read few things(Preparing you see ;))... The day came in and it was time for all of us to go... Buying ticket was one eventful day too... We waited for a looong time in Axis Banka and finally did get a our turn... :D Yipppie got the TICKETS... :D  Got our tickets a week ago and we were all set for the show......

That day morning Me, Anala, Jaychee and Gopal, we all were set to GOOOO.... One thing we knew was we need to be there early... Since the show was about to start at 10 AM... and since these girls had been the previous year, they knew what kindaa of traffic would be there on the road...

Me and Anala were picked by Jaychee and Gopal... With all the accessesories( Glasses, caps,umbrellas,water.... List went on and on) we all were thrilled to go...First thing is we took a little long route( bcoz the road was closed infront of BEL) .. Managed to hit the main road.. Whole while Jaychee was trying to convince Anala that she took her through the short cut previous time though Anala never remembered... :D After reaching Yelahanka started the true spot the place to park and watch.....  We had tickets to gate 8 & 9 and parking was in ADVA... Trust me there was soo much of jam and policemen leading us wrong ways, we ended up going a loooot more longer than we had to... We overshoot the place.. By then on our way itself, we had started seeing the show.. :D Did see few of the flights from there too....Then we had to come back all the way and follow the same jammmeddddd road.. JAM PACK was an understatement to that road... We managed and finally we got to the place by 11.30... By then it was almost half way through,... Did manage to see couple of the planes in the show.. But we had already targetted the 2-4 slot as the one we would be watch.... :D Had our lunch, loafed around, spoke soo much about the air force and the dedication to be in some place like that...

Post lunch with our camera set... we were ready to capture.... First plane in the show was an F16.... Indian war plane... I had goosebumps when it started the aerobatics.... Vhoooom.... it made a huge noise,....... LOVED IT.. stunts were soooo nice to watch...... tried to click few clicks... :) I did manage to capture few nice ones...

Then was the turn of the helicopters... We had soo many lined up.. First of them was AH-64 Apache....1997  model of this one which got us a gold medal at republic day camp.... Did see a lot of stunts of that...
Then was the time to show the rescue mission of the Indian air wing... Did see two helicopters and 6 men clicking on the ropes and portrayed the rescue mission... :):) Were wondering the whole while with that altitude and so much of wind blowing on us, how difficult could it be to manage to cling on the rope...

Then came in the Sukhoi Su-30MKI...... WOOOOOOOOW plane..  i had goosebumps when i heard it... TREAT TO EYE... Really enjoyed it sooo much.. the stunts were soo nice.... Hard to capture since it moved real quick into the clouds...  but in the whole of the show i enjoyed this part the most..... I didn't want the stunts to end ever.....

Next turn was from Saarang.... The Sarang team flew four HAL Dhruvs.... Peacocks have been painted on them... They did a good aerobactic show too.. we were wanting more of them.. :D

Next was the most awaited one the Flying Bulls is one of the most accomplished European aerobatics teams and has been a member of the Red Bull family. It comprises of four pilots (three men and one woman) and they presented formation aerobatics.. The 64 year old woman lead the team... That was another lovely show.. all the four planes did a lot of aerobatic skills... Breath taking stunts... really enjoyed the whole of the show...

Last but not the least was Boeings F/A-18 Super Hornet.. American war plane which helps in sending the cargo... It was one HUGEE plane.... Did couple of stunts too.. Most interesting thing was, i could capture it more easily.. :)
Most disappointing thing was most awaited Russian Nights didn't perform neither did Surya Kiran...

One of the most interesting part was to see the way people were taking shelter..... There were colourful umbrellas, different kinds of hats... And ofcourse people took help of carton box, helmets ,paper caps, kerchiefs and what not... :) Did capture them all.. :):)

For people who had seen air shows it was quiet disappointing.. But since its the first time i ever watched.. It was one memorable one... I will want to come back for more... :) waiting for Aero India show 2015.. :)
